Philippine central bank Governor Felipe Medalla said the government can sell more short-term debt to take advantage of lower borrowing costs.
“I wish they will borrow more Treasury bills,” Medalla said in an interview on Tuesday in Manila. “It’ll be more costly if you borrow later because maybe later it’s higher. The 91-day T-bill rate is lower than the policy rate. Isn’t that odd?”
